Xampla's Plant-Based Coating Finalist in 2025 Sustainability Awards

Xampla, a pioneer in sustainable packaging, has been named a finalist in the 2025 Sustainability Awards. Its plant-based barrier coating, used in corrugated takeaway boxes, has garnered attention in the Commercialized E-Commerce category. The winners will be revealed at the Sustainable Packaging Summit in Utrecht this November.

The innovative Morro Coating, developed in partnership with Just Eat Takeaway.com and Huhtamaki, replaces traditional plastic and PFAS coatings. It provides excellent grease, water, and oxygen protection, making it an ideal solution for food delivery boxes. The coating is biodegradable and home compostable, aligning with increasing consumer demand for environmentally friendly packaging.

Xampla's success is evident in its awards and partnerships. It won the Gold award at the Environmental Packaging Live Awards in June 2025. The company has also secured an exclusive distribution agreement with Bunzl Catering Supplies until October 2025. This agreement will help expand the reach of its sustainable packaging solutions.

Xampla's plant-based barrier coating is a significant step towards sustainable development. Its recognition as a finalist in the 2025 Sustainability Awards and the positive market response reflect its potential. As the winners are announced at the Sustainable Packaging Summit, the industry eagerly awaits the impact of Xampla's innovative solutions.
