Researchers from Russian online recruitment platform hh.ru and developer Level Group jointly discovered the preferences and pain points of employees in the Altai region when it comes to their workplace setup.

The survey revealed that the most irritating factors in the office for Altai region workers are poorly thought-out layout: cramped seating, insufficient areas for private conversations or quiet rooms (mentioned by 57% of respondents), and problems with lighting and ventilation (49%). A third of respondents (31%) expressed discomfort due to the absence of relaxation zones equipped with a kitchen for quick meals or coffee, while another 31% complained about uninspiring workspaces lacking creativity.

Half of the respondents believe that future offices should focus on automating processes for cooperation and document management (43%). In addition, 37% desire offices that offer a high degree of personalization, including lighting, temperature, and even the ability to control background music. 31% foresee the rise of soundproof capsules or booths, and 23% anticipate workstations incorporating voice control and VR/AR technology for meetings. Furthermore, 20% envision interactive tables with augmented reality and virtual business assistants for scheduling appointments.
