Weekly Crusader Spotlight: Highlighting Our Notable Evangelist

Ashwin Prabaharan, a Political Science major at Holy Cross College, class of 2026, has a unique blend of interests that extend beyond the realm of politics. From his love for art and music to his passion for travel and food, Prabaharan's diverse tastes are evident in his daily life.

When it comes to art, Prabaharan's favourite spot on campus is the Dinand Art History Wing study desks, where he often spends his time immersed in his studies. Off-campus, he enjoys exploring street markets, collecting maps, and paintings as a guilty pleasure.

Music plays a significant role in Prabaharan's life, with Billy Joel's 'Vienna' being his favourite song. This love for music is mirrored in his favourite movie, 'Despicable Me', which he finds delightfully catchy.

Travel is another passion for Prabaharan. His favourite place he has visited so far is Vienna, Austria, a city that resonated with him on multiple levels, given its shared name with his favourite song. Interestingly, Vienna, Austria, is also the city he would recommend to anyone who asks for travel advice.

Food is another aspect that brings joy to Prabaharan's life. His hometown, Queens, New York City, offers a diverse culinary landscape, but he particularly looks forward to grabbing Malaysian food at a restaurant his family has been frequenting for nearly 26 years when he goes home.

On campus, Prabaharan cherishes his favourite memory, singing with friends and sipping hot chocolate as they watched the Christmas Tree lighting and choir event during his sophomore year. The annual event, filled with festive cheer, is a highlight of the Holy Cross calendar.

When it comes to meals, Prabaharan's favourite is the Thanksgiving Dinner with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and turkey, served at Kimball dining hall.

Every day, Prabaharan starts and ends his day with apologies. Upon waking up, he apologizes to his roommate for his snoring, and before going to bed, he apologizes in advance for the same reason. His favourite Cool Beans drink is an iced latte, a refreshing pick-me-up throughout the day.

Looking ahead, Prabaharan plans to attend law school, travel around Southeast Asia with friends, and visit Holy Cross to bother his younger brother. His post-graduation plans, however, remain undetailed, as there is no specific information available about his future endeavours.

In the classroom, Prabaharan's favourite class was Agencies, Courts, and Policy, taught by Professor Greg Burnep. His favourite book is 'The Closing of the American Mind' by Allen Bloom.

Prabaharan's favourite TV show is 'The Office', a series that, much like his own life, is filled with a diverse cast of characters and humour that resonates with many. His favourite colour is navy blue, a colour that reflects his calm and collected demeanour.

Despite the lack of detailed information about Prabaharan's involvement in clubs, organisations, and entities at Holy Cross, it is clear that he is a well-rounded individual with a passion for life and a love for the college community.
