Volunteer efforts showcased in Freiburg: Gallery backs the "Engaged City" initiative
Freiburg, a city renowned for its green credentials and picturesque Black Forest surroundings, is set to welcome a new initiative. The "Committed City" Federal Network will establish a visible presence in the Galeria department store, starting next week.
On Tuesday, September 16, a 2.16-meter-high pillar will be inaugurated in the shop window of the Galeria store on Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. The event will be attended by Ülku Saltık, manager of the Galeria branch, Antje Reinhardt, and Frederike Pähler from the municipal coordination office for civic engagement.
The pillar is part of a broader project aimed at making and promoting civic engagement visible in various sectors, including the social sector, environmental and nature conservation, sports, and exercise. After the Christmas season, the space will be used for other purposes, with the possibility of the pillar returning after the holidays.
