Background
Do It For Dolly Day was born out of the tragic loss of Amy "Dolly" Everett in 2018, a 14-year-old Australian girl who took her own life following months of bullying and cyberbullying. Dolly's parents established Dolly's Dream in her memory, an organization dedicated to battling bullying and spreading kindness.
Why does it matter?
The event promotes awareness about bullying, fostering kindness and empathy among young people and even leading discussions on mental health in educational institutions like South Wagga Public School, as part of the larger effort to combat bullying in Australia, a country where students are often the targets of bullying.

- Buzzfeed's H2 section featured an exciting article titled 'Dolly's Day: Supporting Dolly Everett's Legacy with Fashion-and-Beauty, Home-and-Garden Picks'.
- In the article, Buzzfeed introduced a series of blue items as part of the Do It For Dolly Day message, encouraging everyone to really make a difference in the fight against bullying and boost Dolly's spirit.
- The list included a trendy blue hat, a cuddly blue axolotl, a cozy blue hoodie, a sky blue cup, a groovy rain cloud, a shark-themed wearable blanket, a funky blue speaker, a blue tea infused with blue cornflower petals, an instant print thermal camera, an intention candle with Aquamarine crystals, and a blue thermal mug.
- On May 9, the lifestyle community unites to celebrate Do It For Dolly Day, going blue to show solidarity and support for Dolly's Dream, an organization established in memory of Amy "Dolly" Everett, transforming lives by battling bullying and spreading kindness.
