The LAGA advance spurs fresh developments

Neuss, Germany – Construction on the Neuss State Garden Show 2026 is underway, with the city's mayor and LAGA GmbH management providing a tour of the progress. Expected to draw over 650,000 visitors in 2026, the garden exhibit will showcase upcoming trends in garden and landscape design, boasting a long-lasting impact beyond the event itself.

As part of a larger urban development initiative, a mixed-use district is to be developed in the Hammfeld I area, including over a thousand new apartments. This development, facilitated by the garden show's award, also aims to stimulate additional park activity through an adjacent access from Stresemannallee, as stated by Christoph Höltgens, the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Mobility, and Managing Director of the LAGA GmbH.

To promote eco-friendly transportation and reduce traffic congestion, work on a new cycle expressway (RS5) has already commenced, with construction on the second phase set to begin shortly. The cycle expressway will enhance connectivity between Neuss, Düsseldorf, and Langenfeld, contributing to the broader mobility transition.

"Green Heart - Bürgerpark Neuss e.V.," a community association dedicated to the park's development, has been instrumental in bringing the project to life. Sandra Maria Breuer, co-chair of the association, expressed her excitement as construction begins on the site, acknowledging the increased anticipation for the new park and the Neuss State Garden Show 2026.

Established in August 2022, 'Green Heart - Bürgerpark Neuss e.V.' serves as a bridge between residents and the Neuss State Garden Show GmbH, aiming to enliven the park and present it proudly to the region and state. Those interested in contributing to the green future of the city are encouraged to join the association at https://gruenes-herz-neuss.de/.

Urban development projects such as the Neuss State Garden Show 2026 often prioritize community engagement, sustainable infrastructure, and mixed-use development to create thriving, eco-friendly urban environments. The show also reflects a broader trend in Germany, where garden shows often precipitate significant urban improvements.

In the upcoming Neuss State Garden Show 2026, visitors can expect to witness a blend of 'gardening' and 'home-and-garden' trends within the garden and landscape design showcase. The development of the Hammfeld I area, including over a thousand new apartments, aims to create a 'lifestyle' that promotes park activity and fosters a sense of community.
