Supportive Humanoid Brunette Robee Enhances Worker Wellbeing

In the heart of Italy, a new era is dawning with the birth of Robee, a next-generation humanoid robot developed by Oversonic Robotics. This cutting-edge creation is poised to revolutionize healthcare and industrial sectors, offering cognitive assistance rather than replacement, in line with Industry 5.0 principles.

Developed during the pandemic, Robee has quickly scaled the market, garnering significant attention. The robot stands at approximately 1.85 meters tall and weighs up to 120 kg, moving on omnidirectional wheels for enhanced stability and battery life. It is designed to mimic the human body, ensuring repeatability and operational stability.

Robee is equipped with advanced sensors, AI, and an integrated vision system that allows it to recognise objects and people. It also features autonomous navigation and natural language interaction via an integrated VoiceBot, enabling it to communicate effectively with its surroundings.

The healthcare version of Robee, Robee M, is certified and assists hospitals by performing routine tasks, monitoring patients, and aiding rehabilitation, thus reducing workload and burnout among medical staff. Its AI-based decision-making capabilities make it an invaluable asset in the healthcare industry.

Oversonic Robotics, the company behind Robee, boasts a team of 65 professionals, 70% of whom are specialized engineers in computer science, electronics, mechanics, and AI. The company has a representative office in Milan and an operational one in Rovereto, within the Trentino Sviluppo Meccatronica Park.

Robee is not limited to the Italian market. Internationalization is being pursued, with the United States remaining a strategic market. The robot's worldwide distribution is managed by the SolidWorld Group, indicating active steps towards international expansion.

The company has also secured a 5 million euro investment from the venture capital fund Cysero, managed by AVM Gestioni Sgr with Kilometro Rosso, to accelerate development and enhance safety and productivity. This investment underscores the potential of Robee and the faith investors have in its future success.

In a broader context, Robee's development aligns with a global effort to address the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced a new strategy, the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (GAP-AMR), to combat AMR, recognizing the need for a multisectoral approach involving governments, health organizations, the private sector, and civil society.

The goal of Robee is to improve work environments, making them more personalized to human needs and more context-aware. By reducing the workload of medical staff and aiding in rehabilitation, Robee is set to play a crucial role in the implementation of the GAP-AMR strategy, contributing to the prevention and control of infections.

The WHO is urging countries to implement the GAP-AMR strategy by 2020, emphasizing the importance of improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to prevent infections. As Robee continues to make strides in the market, it stands as a testament to Italy's commitment to innovation and the fight against AMR.
