The Cockwells Titian Tender, a recent acquisition from the Falmouth-based shipyard, showcases the traditional craftsmanship of cedar and teak detailing reminiscent of iconic Riva boats. Commissioned by an artist, this 10.5-meter vessel demonstrates Cockwells' expertise in bespoke, one-off commissions.
The exterior design, done by Redman Whitely Dixon, captures the spirit of 60s Riva runabouts with a modern twist. While the latter embraces curvilinear shapes, the Titian Tender boasts sharp, contemporary lines that set it apart. Constructed from cedar and teak, the attention to detail is impeccable—the teak foredeck is fashioned in a herringbone pattern, and the caulking between the planks is copper, a consistent motif throughout the boat.
Step inside, and you’ll find a dayboat concept whose interior, albeit compact, is a sight to behold. Unique elements like copper-edged cabinetry, copper floor detailing, and fine art silk panels set into wooden frames elevate it beyond ordinary boating standards. In addition to the large cuddy cabin that provides headroom, the interior offers a proper galley, complete with a ceramic hob, oven, and coffee maker, as well as a Tecna electric flush toilet.
The Titian Tender's modernity extends to its amenities, such as air conditioning and various conveniences. On the exterior, the helm boasts cutting-edge technology, including two touch screens to display engine and navigation information, as well as control the entire boat—from the electric bimini top and retractable sunbed to the hidden anchor.
The performance is just as impressive, with two 320-hp Yanmar V8 diesel engines powering a pair of modern jetdrives. The absence of tabs, propellers, or gears simplifies handling, allowing for swift acceleration and precise maneuvering.
