Souvenir competition to take place in Sochi
Socio-Cultural Event: Sochi Hosts Annual 'Best Original Souvenir' Contest
Sochi, the picturesque resort city in southern Russia, will host the annual "Best Original Souvenir 2025" competition on Navaginskaya Street. Local artisans along with those from other southern cities will present an array of handcrafted souvenirs, such as Kuban utensils, natural material jewelry, lacquer miniatures, paintings, pottery, and patchwork.
During the exhibition, visitors can cast their votes for their preferred souvenir. The competition's winner, selected by a jury headed by Dr. Natalia Barsukova, will be announced on Sochi's Day of Celebration, May 31. The exhibition-market will continue a day later, on June 1.
"The 'Best Original Souvenir' competition is an integral part of Sochi's annual celebrations. Our city proudly boasts numerous decorative arts masters, and the tradition of the former souvenir factory endures—we recently held a dedicated exhibition of its products at the Art Museum. Tourists traditionally take unique souvenirs as a memento of their Sochi experience," said Marianna Ustinova, head of the city's culture department.
