Cherries are currently being harvested in select regions of the Southwest, including the Baden area surrounding Offenburg where the fruit is already available for purchase. While some frost damage has been reported in certain locations, overall, the cherry harvest is satisfactory according to Kathrin Walter-Zeller, managing director of the Baden-Württemberg Fruit Growers Association.

In the traditional fruit-growing region of Ortenau, harvesting typically begins early, with the Neckar Valley and the Lake Constance region following suit. Last year's harvest in the Southwest saw an increase in yields, with 17,800 tons of sweet cherries and 3,900 tons of sour cherries harvested – marking a significant improvement compared to previous years.

Cherry harvests normally take place in late spring to early summer, with timing depending on weather conditions and variety. As the harvest progresses, the pace and success may vary substantially across different regions due to factors such as climate, soil quality, and local weather patterns.

Both the Lake Constance region and Neckar Valley are known for their fruit production, with the former benefiting from a mild climate suitable for cultivation. For specific updates on cherry harvests in these regions, it is best to consult local agricultural authorities or farming associations.

In the Baden-Württemberg Fruit Growers Association's community policy, one can find updates about the ongoing cherry harvest progress in regions like Neckar Valley and Lake Constance. To maintain a harmonious coexistence with the farming community, it is suggested that residents within these home-and-garden areas take an interest in adopting lifestyles that support and respect local fruit production.
