Services for singing among the elderly population
The city of Bayreuth is offering a unique and engaging opportunity for seniors to enjoy music and connect with others through a dementia-friendly choir program named "Evergreens with Duo Nostalgie."
This collaborative initiative between the Senior Citizens' Office, Bürgerbegegnungsstätte, RW21, and Kirchplatztreff is designed to create a pleasant atmosphere and foster joy. The program, led by choir leader Tamara Bosch and her Duo Nostalgie, is open to anyone who enjoys singing.
The choir will sing well-known Schlager and evergreens, providing a nostalgic experience for participants. The sessions will take place at the RW21 Stadtbibliothek on subsequent Thursdays, with the next one scheduled for October 23 at 3 pm.

In addition to the regular sessions, the choir program has special events planned. On September 24, the theme will be "Film Music from the 1930s to 1960s," and the event will take place at the Municipal Bürgerbegegnungsstätte, Am Sendelbach 1-3, also at 3 pm.
Singing together in the choir program is not just about enjoying oldies with musical accompaniment; it's also about fostering connections with others. The program aims to evoke memories and improve mood, making it a perfect activity for seniors.
The final session for the year will be on December 4. However, the choir program will continue in 2023, offering more opportunities for seniors to come together, sing, and enjoy the music they love.
