This little gem of a city, with a population of just 12,000 citizens, isn't fazed by the major event—it's a walk in the park for them, quite literally!
The selection of Ludwigslust as the host city for 2027 has been met with approval from Manuela Schwesig, Minister-President, who sees its flourishing beauty as a perfect fit. The city's crown jewel, the renovated Ludwigslust Castle, is a testament to the state's investment in preserving its historical attractions.
Ludwigslust isn't unfamiliar with the limelight. Back in 2006, it graced the stage as the venues for the State Festival. The city's ability to accommodate tens of thousands of visitors for events like the Kleine Fest im großen Park and the Landeswild- und Fischtage speaks volumes of its preparedness for the MV Days.
To top it all off, Ludwigslust will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of its granting of city rights in 1876 in grand style. The West Wing and the Golden Hall of the castle, after extensive restoration, will be reopened, promising a fully restored 18th-century grand building for all to behold. The entire Baroque city layout remains well-preserved in Ludwigslust, adding to its charm.
The MV Days have found a new home every year since their inception in 2000, with this year marking Greifswald's turn as the host.
