## Announcing the Journeys Role: Promoting Active Travel in Schools and Communities
We are excited to announce two roles available within our team, dedicated to promoting walking, wheeling, and cycling in schools and local communities. The roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about creating healthier places and happier lives for everyone.
### The Role
As part of the Active Journeys team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring colleagues and volunteers involved in project delivery. The role requires questioning the status quo and daring to imagine a different world where travel creates a positive impact on the environment and community.
You will be expected to build strong, effective relationships with local leaders, authorities, and stakeholders, and organize and deliver co-design sessions with pupils, parents, and the wider school community. The role also involves planning and delivering behaviour change projects and activities.
### Requirements
Candidates should have experience working with children and young people in both school and community settings. Knowledge of safety management and risk assessment procedures is essential, as is excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage workload effectively and independently.
Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the challenges faced by communities experiencing inequalities, and be committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion, and ensuring all people are treated with dignity and respect.
