The 2nd Annual HBCU Dance Connect event, organised by Dance Connects, was a memorable one for its attendees. Scheduled for Friday, July 18, 2025, at Tara High School in Baton Rouge, LA, this premier interactive workshop celebrated the artistry, culture, and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) dance lines.

The event attracted a diverse crowd, with around 600 party-goers of all ages in attendance. The unique location, the Frankenstein castle ruins in Bad Salzungen, added to the event's character and charm. Despite not traditionally being associated with wild partying, the ruins proved to be a successful venue for the electronic open-air party.

The stage, a 360-degree stage, allowed dancing not only in front of it but also on it, contributing to the lively atmosphere. The dance floor was packed, and the party atmosphere was electric. The success of the event was evident from the beaming faces of attendees and the energetic vibe that filled the venue.

The event featured dynamic performances and interactive workshops led by expert dancers from HBCUs. It was a blend of tradition and innovation on stage, highlighting the cultural significance of HBCU dance. DJs Fappe & Bru, Technoir, Tobias Winkler, Polly Saint Cado, and Wilhelm provided the music for the night, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

Dance Connects also organises various dance festivals and workshops across multiple cities throughout 2025. However, the 2nd Annual HBCU Dance Connect event stands out as a distinct event, with its cultural and educational focus dedicated to HBCU dance communities and their unique artistic expressions. The organisers are proud of the event's success and look forward to next year's edition.

After the resounding success of the 2nd Annual HBCU Dance Connect event, Dance Connects planning will extend to other fields. Next year, attendees can anticipate enjoying a fusion of lifestyle, home-and-garden, entertainment, and music experiences at the event, mirroring the diverse crowd and engaging atmosphere of this year's dance-focused event.
