Renovation of the 50th Anniversary Komsomol Park Begins with Federal Funding. What New Look Will It Get?
Workers have set foot on the grounds of the 50-year VLKSM Park. The property's improvements include:
- Asphalt sidewalks
- Synthetic flooring for running tracks
- Sandy tracks for secondary roads
- Installing four entryways
- Establishing five play areas for kids
- Placing outdoor exercise equipment
- Setting up workout zones
- Creating table tennis and volleyball courts
- Cleaning the water body
- Setting up two paths to the water and an observation platform
- Installing two portable restrooms
- Installing 79 surveillance cameras and 8.3 km of lighting
Over 1250 trees and shrubs will be planted, including 133 firs, 157 birches, 127 privets, 59 apple trees, 54 maples, and 34 spruces.

According to the contract, the work should be completed by November 1, 2027.
- The 50-year VLKSM Park emerged victorious in a ranking competition for the beautification of the park within the federal project "Forming a Comfortable Urban Environment" in 2024.
- A year earlier, a scandal erupted in the city due to plans to construct an Olympic reserve school adjacent to the park. Outraged by this decision, local residents collected over 2000 signatures against the construction on the site.
- Former governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuivashev, clarified that construction would not be carried out on the park's territory.
