Renovation of Novosibirsk Street in Tomsk currently stands at 50% progress

In the heart of Tomsk, the ongoing issue of stormwater drains on Michurin Street remains unresolved, as reported by local authorities. Dmitry Makhina, the city's mayor, has tasked finding funding to fix a pothole-filled section of Michurin Street near house No. 31.

Under the “Infrastructure for Life” national project, street-level road repairs are carried out in a systematic manner. To get the current, authoritative status of Michurin Street, residents can look for project updates or press releases on the Tomsk city administration's website, check public procurement and contract portals, or contact the Tomsk municipal hotline or the municipality’s construction/urban planning department.

Common problems observed on streets like Michurin include insufficient drainage capacity, blocked inlets/manholes, poor gradients, and lack of curbs and gutters. To address these issues, projects under the “Infrastructure for Life” national project typically implement solutions such as hydraulic assessments and redesign, replacement or upsizing of storm sewers, new surface drainage, and installation or rehabilitation of catch basins and sedimentation sumps.

Residents can ask the municipality specific questions to get the status they need, such as whether Michurin Street is included in the current “Infrastructure for Life” works, the current construction phase and expected completion date, whether stormwater drainage upgrades were included in the contract scope, and if specific remedial measures are planned or already executed for flooding or ponding issues.

Recent updates on other Tomsk roads include the completion of 800 square meters of sidewalk pavement, the modernization of three traffic signal points, and the installation of new groups on two sections. Workers are also actively repairing sidewalks and installing curbs on Michurin Street, with a small area of the road set to be milled and new asphalt laid.

While the exact status of Michurin Street's repairs under the “Infrastructure for Life” national project is not yet clear, residents are encouraged to stay informed and engage with local authorities to ensure their concerns are addressed.

  1. To enhance their living conditions and address home-and-garden concerns, residents can enquire about the inclusion of Michurin Street in the ongoing "Infrastructure for Life" project, which may involve solutions like redesign of drainage systems and installation of catch basins.
  2. Understanding the current lifestyle implications, residents should follow updates on the "Infrastructure for Life" project regarding Michurin Street, particularly focusing on the implementation of stormwater drainage upgrades given the persistent issues with flooding on the street.
