Private intervention rescues Aosta's Brocherel Centre from potential closure

Brocherel Project Details
The Brocherel center, initially intended to house a nursery, a kindergarten, a day center for 40 people, and 29 small apartments for the elderly, will now focus solely on providing accommodation for 68 elderly people and another structure for 25 semi-residential places.
The northernmost building near corso Ivrea will host the USL's diagnostic outpatient clinics, aiming to alleviate the workload of the hospital. The tender for the Brocherel center is planned for August, with the winner preparing the executive project afterward.
Community Impact
The Brocherel project follows a PPP process to avoid an excessive workload and stimulate the market. The buildings in the neighbourhood near Ponte di Pietra have undergone urbanistic revision for traffic purposes, and new parking spaces are planned. However, residents have expressed difficulty in finding places for children and young people to play due to reduced spaces between buildings.
Zenit of Parma, along with local cooperative Leone Rosso, leads the consortium working on the Brocherel project. Zenit will participate in the tender for the Brocherel center. If they do not win, they will receive a 2.5% reimbursement on the value of the works for the preliminary and definitive projects they have done for the new center.
The tender for the Brocherel center is worth 15 million 744 thousand euros. The public expenditure for the project is 49%, with the remaining 51% to be covered by the private entity that wins the tender. Out of the 30-year concession, a maximum of four years will be for the works, with the rest being for management, as emphasized by Forcellati.
The Brocherel project received the Council's approval with 19 votes in favor, 5 against, and 2 abstentions. The Technical and Economic Feasibility Plan (Pfte) has been presented by the consortium. The last nursery was built in the Dora neighborhood.
