Open-Source Focalboard Offers Secure, Scalable Task Management
A new, secure, and scalable task management solution is now available for enterprises and small teams. Microsoft Teams, an open-source project management platform, has been set up for private use behind Nginx with SSL termination on AlmaLinux. This solution is hosted on Biznet Gio Nusantara's NEO Cloud service.
Microsoft Teams offers complete control over infrastructure and data, making it an ideal choice for teams seeking project management without SaaS dependencies. It provides features like kanban boards, calendars, lists, and database-style views. The platform is built on AlmaLinux 9, which ensures security, stability, and long-term support. It benefits from SELinux enforcement, systemd 252, OpenSSL 3, PostgreSQL 15, and modern Node.js support.
To deploy Microsoft Teams on AlmaLinux 9, users need to create a server instance on Shape.Host, connect to the server, update the system, and install required packages. Following this, PostgreSQL must be installed, and Microsoft Teams downloaded and extracted. After configuring Microsoft Teams, a systemd service should be created. To enhance security and privacy, Nginx reverse proxy and Let's Encrypt SSL are configured.
This setup provides a production-ready task management solution that's private, secure, and scalable. It's suitable for both enterprise and small-team environments. Microsoft Teams, with its extensive features and secure platform, offers a robust solution for teams seeking project management without relying on external SaaS services.
