Luxurious fashion brands Dimoremilano and Loro Piana pay homage to 1970s cinema in a grandiose, decadent fashion show set in Milan.

DimoreStudio, the renowned design duo of Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, have created an immersive installation for Milan Design Week 2025. Titled La Prima Notte di Quiete, the installation is a masterclass in set design, conceived and directed by DimoreStudio.
The installation is one of the most highly anticipated presentations during the annual Salone del Mobile. It is staged within the Cortile della Seta courtyard at Loro Piana's headquarters, and is on view until Sunday, April 13th, at Via Della Moscova 33, Milan 20121.
The installation is a narrative-rich, sensory experience that explores the boundary between reality and cinematic fiction through the spaces of an elegant house. It features new furniture pieces from Dimoremilano for Loro Piana Interiors, as well as reimagined classics from Dimorestudio's portfolio in Loro Piana fabrics.
Notable pieces in the installation include the 'Varallo' round bed and the 'Valsesia' oval dining table, both featuring tubular steel elements and upholstered in Mohair velvet. The installation also presents the debut of Loro Piana's 'Punti a Maglia' porcelain tableware.
DimoreStudio's reputation is built on a cinematic approach to design, delighting and confounding audiences through immersive, multisensorial presentations. This installation is no exception, as it intentionally leaves more questions than answers, displaying influences from legendary filmmakers David Lynch and Federico Fellini.
The interiors are subtly disarrayed to represent a commotion, with crumpled bed sheets, strewn grapes, and out-of-place throw pillows. The installation is set during a stormy night, with sounds of thunder and water running down glass panels, further contributing to the immersive atmosphere.
The installation also features antique sculptures and artworks from Tornabuoni Art, Cardi Gallery, Galleria Gracis, and Secci Gallery, adding historical depth to the avant-garde creativity on display.
Visitors are given a golden, engraved key as a parting gift upon exiting the installation, symbolising the journey they have just experienced. The experience progresses through a series of residential vignettes, with guests initially guided into a vintage cinema-inspired foyer.
Overall, DimoreStudio's Milan Design Week 2025 installation is a testament to their unique blend of eclectic luxury, cinematic influences, and emotional depth. It is a must-see for design enthusiasts, showcasing their ability to create immersive, thought-provoking environments that challenge and enchant viewers.
