The Blooming Wonders of Parkhof, Swalmen

Get ready to immerse yourself in a lush, vibrant oasis that is officially reopening this Pentecost, from 11 am to 5 pm! Located in the quaint Dutch town of Swalmen, Parkhof offers a unique, floral extravaganza that's not to be missed.

This month, prepare to be enchanted by scores of daylilies gracing the garden, over 250 of them blooming bright and beautiful. Daylilies have a special charm—they bloom for just one day! But don't fret, there's a cornucopia of blooming shrubs, some of which are edible and can add a delightful pop of color to your salads.

Sprawling over 3500 square meters, Parkhof is brimming with roses, shrubs, sunflowers, and a myriad of other flowers, accompanied by majestic pine trees. A network of ponds, complete with a bubbling brook and a captivating waterfall, creates a soothing ambiance that invites relaxation. Nestled among the greenery, you'll find a collection of striking sculptures crafted by artists from Zimbabwe, adding a touch of artistry to this botanical paradise.

In addition to the garden, the museum showcasing renowned Roman artifacts is also open, boasting an impressive collection of over 4000 religious figures, crosses, and devotional items. For just 4 euros, you can enjoy admission, a cup of coffee or tea, and, on Sundays, you'll find an assortment of scrumptious cakes waiting for you.
