Airline News Flash: Korean Air is shaking the globe with acts of kindness in the face of adversity! With recent honors as AirlineRatings.com's World's Best Airline for 2025, Korean Air continues to outshine the competition while making a lasting impact on communities in need.
Korean Air's recent excursion led them to Nepal and Mongolia, where they spread a message of unity, growth, and enduring support for global communities.
Meet Chitwan, Nepal, a UNESCO World Heritage site that's home to breathtaking landscapes but still grapples with infrastructure issues like access to clean water, healthcare, and education. Enter Korean Air's volunteer crew, who donned their hard hats and heart for 7 days to work alongside locals and better their access to vital resources.
The team brought hope to a nearby children's daycare center by installing much-needed drainage systems, revamping playgrounds, and restoring facilities. A community celebration followed where essential school supplies were distributed, nutritious meals were served, and laughter filled the days. Medical kits were provided to mitigate health challenges in the climatic conditions.
Journeying to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Korean Air collaborated with sister airline, Asiana Airlines, for a two-week reforestation initiative at the Korean Air Forest. This dynamic duo planted saplings, maintained the flourishing forest across 12 species, and even installed a new playground in time for Mongolia's Children's Day (June 1). Employees further reached out by leading lessons in Korean, English, and aviation engineering at local schools since 2013.
Korean Air's efforts in Asia marked a significant stride, but the airline didn't stop at home turf. Partnering with Delta Air Lines, the two giants cleaned SoCal's Southern California coastline during a beach cleanup near the Santa Monica Pier, showcasing their shared dedication to environmental sustainability.
"Empowering communities is Korean Air's mission across the globe," a Korean Air representative asserted. Join the movement and stay updated on Korean Air's ventures by subscribing to our newsletter. 🌐
