KiTa Bremen appoints Uwe Kathmann as its new managing director.
New CEO of KiTa Bremen to Take Charge in October
Uwe Kathmann, a seasoned educational leader with approximately nine years of experience at the helm of larger institutions, has been appointed as the new CEO of KiTa Bremen, Bremen's largest child daycare provider. His official appointment by the Senate is set for August 30th.
Kathmann's extensive experience in managing educational institutions spans across various locations, where he has been responsible for the economic management of four secondary schools, four grammar schools, and one vocational school. His focus on personal equal opportunities and participation for all children has been highlighted by Senator Sascha Karolin Aulepp.
Senator Aulepp believes that Kathmann's experience will be beneficial for KiTa Bremen, especially in times of skilled worker shortage. The new CEO will take over the management and financial leadership of KiTa Bremen starting October 1st.
KiTa Bremen, under Kathmann's leadership, will focus on areas with significant challenges and a high demand for kindergarten places. The organisation will also care for children with challenging life paths and special needs. Kathmann, a father of three, will be responsible for approximately 9,000 children and around 2,500 employees.
The appointment of Kathmann comes as KiTa Bremen is involved in the BiBau project, which aims to create new KiTa facilities for 160 children starting from 2026. Kathmann, who hails from Langförder, has been identified as a key figure in the development and communication of new childcare infrastructure projects at KiTa Bremen.
In the past, Kathmann served as the sole CEO of the Bishop's Foundation "Zukunft durch Bildung" in Vechta for five years. He is expected to guide KiTa Bremen effectively, ensuring its continued success and growth.
