Impressive adornment graces the latest Bentley model.
Bentley Debuts "Ombre by Mulliner" on Custom Continental GT Speed
Bentley Motors has unveiled a new decoration technique called "Ombre by Mulliner" on a personal commission for the Continental GT Speed. This unique paintwork was showcased at 'The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering' during Monterey Car Week in the United States.
The hand-painted, seamless gradient finish transitions between two contrasting colors along the length of the car. In this debut example, the Bentley Continental GT Speed fades from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear.
Mulliner, Bentley's in-house personal commissioning division, has carefully curated three exclusive color combinations for this technique. Each combination is meticulously designed to offer a harmonious blend of colours. The other two color pairings have not been explicitly named, but Mulliner limits this complex hand-painted gradient technique to three specific combinations to ensure quality and consistency.
The paintwork extends onto the 22-inch wheels, with the lighter colour at the front and the darker towards the rear. The interior also features a graded approach, reflecting the exterior colours, with bespoke hide and accent colours matched accordingly.
Inside the car, the front seats, steering wheel, and instrument panel feature Topaz, while the rear showcases the dark Beluga tone. The 'Ombre by Mulliner' paint in this specific order is unique, but the three color combinations with this decoration technique are available for order through Bentley dealerships.
The Continental GT Speed equipped with the "Ombre by Mulliner" finish also boasts several other features. The Bentley Rotating Display is included, and the car is equipped with a Naim for Bentley audio system. The Dark Chrome interior specification is part of the car's features, and the 'Speed' emblem is located on the dashboard near a ventilation outlet and a few centimeters below the hood on each side, between the front wheel and door.
Dragonfly details are present in the car's interior, adding a touch of elegance and exclusivity. Each colour behaves differently during the process, making each paint application unique.
This innovative technique is just another example of Bentley's commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and craftsmanship. If you're interested in learning more about Bentley's latest offerings, be sure to read about the first production Bentley Batur Convertible.
