DJI, renowned for its drone technology, has ventured into the home cleaning market with the launch of its first robot vacuum, the Romo. Launched on August 6, 2025, the Romo stands out with its advanced drone-inspired technology and innovative cleaning hardware.

The Romo series consists of three models: the Romo S, Romo A, and Romo P, priced between $650 and $950. Each model boasts powerful suction, advanced navigation, and obstacle detection capabilities, making it a formidable force in the robot vacuum market.

One of the key features of the Romo is its powerful suction, reaching up to 25,000 Pa, making it one of the most powerful robot vacuums available. The AI navigation system adjusts its path in real-time to avoid furniture, socks, pet messes, and other obstacles, thanks to a binocular fisheye vision sensor combined with three wide-angle solid-state laser radars. This advanced navigation system allows the Romo to detect and avoid very thin obstacles as small as 2mm, such as charging cables or pet toys.

The Romo's mopping system is available on higher-end versions, featuring a 164 ml onboard water tank with dual rotating pads. The base station also comes with large clean (4L) and dirty water tanks (3.2L). The docking station not only cleans the mops but also empties the dustbin, uses UV light and silver ion technology to kill bacteria and remove odors.

The Romo's flexible robotic arms extend to clean tight corners and around furniture legs, improving the reach beyond typical robot vacuums. The dual roller brushes prevent hair tangling, and the extendable side arms pull dust from edges and under furniture.

The Romo works with voice commands via smart speakers and offers remote control, encrypted video monitoring, and room-specific cleaning schedules through the DJI Home app. The mapping system keeps your floor plan private by storing data locally.

DJI aims to set a new standard for smart home cleaning with the Romo, merging drone technology—particularly in navigation and sensing—with powerful cleaning capabilities. The Romo's transparent designs on some models and a tandem robot vacuum plus larger charging housing setup add to its sleek and modern look.

With the Romo, DJI has demonstrated its commitment to innovation and quality, bringing a new level of technology and efficiency to the home cleaning market.
