Iconic Musician Noel Gallagher's Jaguar MKII Convertible goes on auction
A Iconic Jaguar MKII Convertible, Once Owned by Noel Gallagher, Goes Up for Sale
A one-of-a-kind 1967 Jaguar MKII Convertible, extensively converted in the 1990s under the commission of British musician Noel Gallagher, is now available for purchase. This rare classic car, blending iconic 1960s styling with tasteful modern upgrades, is considered a cultural icon due to its association with Gallagher and the Britpop era.
Originally a four-door saloon, the Jaguar was transformed into a convertible by the renowned team at Vicarage. The conversion included the removal of the rear doors, extension of the front doors, and the addition of a fully electric folding roof, power steering, electric windows, automatic gearbox, electric cooling fan, modern inertia-reel seatbelts, and more. This makes it a highly usable classic with modern conveniences.
Gallagher commissioned the conversion while Oasis was at its peak. Despite not having his driving license at the time, he intended the car as his driving project. However, he never drove the vehicle himself, and it mainly stayed in professional storage. The car made an appearance in a music video for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, driven by actor Matt Smith. In 2022, Jaguar Land Rover Classic purchased the vehicle and it made appearances at high-profile events, including during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations with model Twiggy riding in the back.
According to the seller, the car remains in 'stunning' condition. It is described as a rare, refined, and highly bespoke classic with celebrity provenance. The Jaguar MKII Convertible is currently for sale via Twyford Moors. Interested buyers can apply for the current price, which is available upon request.
