Ice Cream Social event hosted by CHG every year on Sunday
The Clearmont Historical Group (CHG) is gearing up for its fifth annual Ice Cream Social, taking place on August 3rd, 2023, from 11 AM to 2 PM in Branding Iron Park, Clearmont. This family-friendly event promises a delightful afternoon filled with ice cream sundaes, a silent auction fundraiser, and more.
The silent auction will feature a variety of intriguing items, including glassware and other artifacts from the old Red Dawg Saloon, which previously occupied the building now housing the Historical Center. Other items up for grabs include gift cards, dinosaur teeth casts, a unique puzzle, a "307" cutting board crafted by Ira R., books, artwork, and additional assorted items.
A highlight of the event will be a drawing for a basket containing a collection of interesting items. Tickets for the drawing are available for a donation to support the Center.
The local AARP chapter will also join in the festivities by hosting an informational table, showcasing their recent support through the 2025 AARP Community Challenge grant program, known as the Flagship Grant received by CHG.
Everyone is welcome at this free event, so mark your calendars and come down to Branding Iron Park on August 3rd for a fun-filled day of community spirit and historical charm. The proceeds from the auction and donations will help keep the Historical Center operational, ensuring that Clearmont's rich history continues to be preserved and celebrated for years to come.
After enjoying the ice cream sundaes and silent auction at the Ice Cream Social, attendees can peruse the "307" cutting board crafted by Ira R., artwork, books, and other items in the home-and-garden section of the auction. The proceeds from this home-and-garden themed silent auction, along with donations, will contribute to maintaining the Historical Center and preserving Clearmont's engaging lifestyle.
