Holiday Initiative: Job Agency Distributes Presents to Approximately 500 Kids
In the spirit of holiday giving, the municipal job center in Solingen, Technical Operations (TBS), and the Wuppertal 'Toys Company' have once again collaborated to organize the annual toy drive. This marks the third consecutive year of this successful partnership.
The project, which aims to provide toys to those in need, saw the collection of over 500 well-preserved toys this year. The containers, available during the opening hours of the EBZ (Monday to Friday 7:30 to 3:45 pm and Saturday 7:30 to 12:15 pm), were filled with toys that, according to the TBS department head, were too good to throw away.
The Wuppertal 'Toys Company' will continue to offer the project, but with a reduced workforce. The Vohwinkel branch is set to close by the end of the year due to a reduction in funding. Despite this, the project will continue in Barmen.
The toys collected are renovated, sorted, and repaired by the 'Toys Company' before being delivered to the job center. This year, the Solingen job center's Customer Service Center took the lead in setting up the large gift table and distributing the toys.
Julia Heitmann, who accompanied the action with waste advisor Martina Chudek, highlighted sustainability as an additional plus. City service manager Mike Häusgen praised the commitment of the cooperation partners.
Project leader Sascha von Schwedler, whose 'Toys Company' renovates and delivers the toy donations to the job center, experienced mixed feelings during the latest gift action due to the closure of the Vohwinkel branch. However, he aims to "work with full steam on a future-proof new business structure" in the future.
Hopefully, the Solingen job center customers will also benefit from the new business structure in a year. The 'Toys Company' will continue to collect well-preserved toys in 2025 at the disposal center Bärenloch on Cronenberger Straße 177.
In the spirit of the holiday season, around 1700 households were notified about the offer in writing. The employees in the job center motivated their offspring to part with some toys to make other children happy during the latest gift action.
For more detailed information on the toy drive, future plans, and collections for 2025, it is recommended to contact the municipal job center of Solingen, the city's Technical Operations department, or the Toys Company in Wuppertal directly.
- The 'Toys Company' will maintain its commitment by continuing to collect well-preserved toys in 2025 at the disposal center Bärenloch, adding a home-and-garden touch to their tradition of providing toys to those in need.
- As the holiday season approaches, the Solingen job center's next initiative may involve expanding beyond lifestyle offerings to include home-and-garden products, enriching the lives of their customers.
