Soak Up Summer Fun at Hamburg's Public Pools this Weekend! 🏊‍♂️🌞

Hanseatic city's next public baths commencing operations on a Thursday - Hanseatic city welcomes the opening of its outdoor baths this Thursday.

Get ready for some much-needed outdoor fun in Hamburg! The next set of public pools are opening this Thursday, and the remaining one on Friday. The warmth of the sun is inviting, with temperatures predicted to reach up to 29 degrees Celsius, by the German Weather Service (DWD).

Starting from the end of May, the Kaifubad and the Naturbad Stadtparksee have been open, and now more pools will join, operating daily from 11:00 to 19:00. However, keep in mind that temporary closures may occur due to staffing issues. The pools Osdorfer Born and Neugraben are closed on Monday and Tuesday, and the Bad Marienhohe on Wednesday and Thursday.

Remember, children need extra attention. The operator Bäderland had previously urged pool visitors to keep a watchful eye on their little ones to prevent any accidents. Alcohol consumption while supervising children is also strongly discouraged to ensure that adults remain alert to emergencies.

Take advantage of free sunscreen with an SPF of 50, available at several locations, thanks to a partnership with the Asklepios clinics.

Pool Safety for Kids

Keeping children safe at public pools requires both official regulations and basic common sense.

  1. Active Supervision: Water toys and floatation devices serve as helpful tools but should never replace close supervision by an adult.
  2. Pool Rules: Make sure kids follow all posted pool rules for safe swimming, such as no running or rough play.
  3. Swimming Ability: If children have proper swimming skills, it reduces the risk of drowning. Enroll kids in swimming lessons to improve their water safety.
  4. Health and Hygiene: Sick kids should stay away from public pools to prevent the spreading of infections.
  5. Be Aware of Lifeguard Presence: Check if there are lifeguards on duty and if not, ensure you're always close to your children.

So, come and enjoy a swim in the refreshing waters of Hamburg! Stay vigilant, and above all, have fun! 🤽‍♀️🏊‍♂️

During the weekend, immerse yourself in fun-filled swimming activities at the numerous public pools across Hamburg. Remember to keep children safe by practising active supervision, following pool rules, ensuring they have proper swimming skills, maintaining good health and hygiene, and staying aware of lifeguard presence. Make this summer weekend a memorable one with outdoor-living and home-and-garden vibes while adhering to the community policy of pool safety.
