H-E-B Expands Presence in Fort Worth with New Store in Aledo

H-E-B, the popular Texas-based supermarket chain, is set to expand its footprint in the Fort Worth area with a new store in Aledo. The store, part of a roughly $18 million project, is expected to begin construction in October 2025 and complete by December 2026.

The new store, likely around 110,000 square feet in size, will be located on an 18-acre site in a residential and commercial development, at the corner of FM 3225 and the I-20 Service Road. This expansion follows H-E-B's first North Texas return location in Frisco, which opened in 2022.

H-E-B is actively expanding across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, including other suburbs like Denton and Flower Mound, where a new store is currently under construction. The Flower Mound store, not part of Fort Worth but nearby, will be about 110,000 square feet with approximately 700 parking spaces planned on a 22.8-acre site.

Meanwhile, H-E-B has shown its commitment to helping communities in need. In response to the deadly flash floods in the Texas Hill Country, H-E-B, the Butt family, and the H.E. Butt Foundation have pledged $5 million in funding to nonprofits providing aid and recovery to affected communities.

H-E-B, ranked No. 13 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2025 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America, also operates Favor Delivery, an on-demand delivery service. The company, which serves hundreds of communities throughout the Lone Star State, recently unveiled a new store in Melissa, Texas, and has plans to add a second location in Fort Worth.

In addition, United Supermarkets is starting construction on a new store in Texas, and Fiesta Mart has added 'Clinic in a Box' to 2 of its stores in Fort Worth and Missouri City, Texas. El Rancho Supermercado is also holding a grand reopening in Dallas.

As for DoorDash, the company has launched all-day drone delivery in Dallas-Fort Worth, marking a significant leap in the delivery industry. This development, while not related to H-E-B's expansion, underscores the ongoing innovation in the retail and delivery sectors.

Investments in the Fort Worth area might extend beyond supermarkets, as H-E-B's new store in Aledo signifies a venture into home-and-garden goods, given its planned size and location in a residential and commercial development. Additionally, with H-E-B's growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, one might anticipate further developments in the realm of finance and business, as the company’s expansion includes other suburbs and potential new store openings.
