"Georgia Miller Shares Her Passion for Knitting: Insights into Her Favorite Hobby"
Hey there! I've been reflecting on my journey lately, thinking about how I started Knitwitch and my passion for knitting. Mind if I share my story?
Growing up, I had a bit of a nomadic lifestyle, tagging along with my dad during his business trips in the summer and fall. This gave me a unique opportunity to learn everything from a young age, but I found myself lacking companionship due to my travels. To fill my time, I opted to pick up a hobby, and knitting seemed intriguing as I found myself flying across the globe during the fall season, approaching the festive season.
Being on the go so much, I quickly became quite skilled at knitting, whipping up sweaters, toys, and footwear while passing the hours on long flights. I soon fell head over heels for this craft and began offering custom pieces to people I met throughout my travels. My dad was incredibly proud, and even my mom, who insisted on rent money despite me being miles away, was delighted!
However, knitting as a job can become monotonous, so I decided to pivot and sell the yarn I used instead. Establishing a website was challenging, given the influx of sales and travel demands, but it allowed me to broaden my reach. Eventually, I shifted away from selling my knits to blogging instead, sharing my love for knitting and the experiences I had while honing my craft.
Knitting these days has become more challenging with my kids, but blogging has helped maintain my sanity during this transition. In the future, I aspire to continue my travels when my children grow a bit older and knit a special piece for every new place I visit. Why not join me on this exciting journey?
Feel free to check out more of my knitting adventures here!
