Though the post mill, built in 1840 and restored in 1992, hasn't been operational since 1956, the main equipment will be on display. Association members will be there to share insights about the functioning of this historical marvel.
Take a seat in the beer tent furnished on the meadow by the mill and indulge in an array of delicious food and drinks, including coffee, cake, and hearty meals prepared in the Gulaschkanone. To add to the atmosphere, a brass band will perform in the afternoon. Treat yourself to this delight starting from 11 am.
Please note that the years have taken their toll on the post mill, with some repairs needed, particularly on the roof. The city of Sömmerda's building authority has been contacted regarding the necessary repairs, and it remains to be seen how these can be financed.
