Freiburg's 2025 Outdoor Swimming Season Breaks Records
The 2025 outdoor swimming season in Freiburg saw a significant boost in visitors, with 376,667 people enjoying the city's pools. This marked a 30,000 increase from the previous year, making it the most successful season yet.
The season brought several notable developments. The St. Georgen outdoor pool introduced Aqua-Fitness courses for the first time, providing swimmers with new ways to stay active and healthy. Meanwhile, the reopening of the West outdoor pool drew a crowd of 27,400 guests in just six weeks, with an impressive 5,500 visitors on the opening day alone.
The season also saw a strong focus on swimming lessons. A total of 790 children learned to swim, with 240 mastering the skill in the outdoor pools and another 550 in the indoor pools.
