First 'Garden Kid' Festival in Bioterra Glarus Süd a Hit
The first 'Garden Kid' festival of Bioterra Glarus Süd took place on September 6, 2025, in Schwanden. Children presented their plots and celebrated their harvest at the festival, which was led by Esther Kessler and Andreas Hugi.
The Matt in Schwanden was transformed into a vibrant festival site for the event. This year, the program took place in Glarus Süd for the first time. The 'Garden Kid' project offers children throughout Switzerland the opportunity to experience nature up close. Participants planted various vegetables and flowers, attracting swallowtail caterpillars and growing a four-meter-tall sunflower. The children celebrated the harvest festival with a cozy garden party, serving freshly harvested food and giving a garden tour.
