Festivities in Solingen this summer: restrictions on traffic and parking
The city of Solingen is gearing up for its annual Echt.Scharf.Solingen summer party, set to take place from August 8 to 10, 2025. This three-day event invites residents and visitors to enjoy winemakers, caterers, and live music.
The organiser invites everyone to join the festivities at the city centre. However, it's important to note that some parking restrictions and traffic detours will be in place to ensure safety and accommodate pedestrian zones.
For those with disabilities, there will be two designated parking spots available: at the Ufergarten (Schuhhaus Hugenbruch) and opposite the Sparkasse. Please be aware that parking prohibitions will apply in various locations, including the roundabout at Cologne Street/Ufergarten, in front of the Sparkasse, on Blumenstraße, and at Klosterwall.
Daily closures in the city centre, starting at 3 PM, include the Ufergarten roundabout, parts of Cologne Street, Bergstraße, and Kasernenstraße. The area at Kirchplatz 10 will also be closed from Friday, 3 PM, to Sunday, 7:30 PM.
Permanent closures from August 7 to 11 include Linkgasse from the Eiland to the Old Market Square and Klosterwall behind the Fronhof.
Illegally parked vehicles may be towed away during the summer party, so it's crucial to pay close attention to the signage.
