Expanding Presence: 99 Ranch Market to Set Up Shop in New York City
In a significant expansion to the East Coast, 99 Ranch Market, a popular Asian supermarket chain, opened its first location in New York City proper on July 25, 2025. The grand opening took place at 37-11 Main Street, Flushing, Queens, marking the retailer's 64th store nationwide.
The new 99 Ranch Market spans 37,000 square feet and offers over 10,000 products, including live seafood, fresh produce, frozen foods, and pantry goods. The store also features the company's popular food hall, Eat Up, which will occupy the upstairs with 22 food stalls and a dining room space for 158 seats.
The space was most recently occupied by the national chain Hong Kong Supermarket, which closed in 2024. Mehran Realty Group inked a deal with 99 Ranch Market on a lease for 44,000 square feet of space on Main Street.
99 Ranch Market is known as a "Pan-Asian Destination" offering a wide variety of Asian products and cuisines. The chain, owned by Tawa Supermarket based in Buena Park, Calif., is also ranked No. 88 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer's 2025 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America.
A soft opening period took place from July 18 to July 24 before the grand opening weekend from July 25 to July 27, with various promotions and giveaways for customers. The festivities included a lion dance and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new 99 Ranch Market location in Flushing, Queens, is not the chain's first foray into the region. The three closest stores to New York City are in Jersey City and Hackensack, N.J., and in Westbury, Long Island.
With the opening of this new location, 99 Ranch Market continues to solidify its position as a leading Asian supermarket chain, offering a diverse range of products and experiences to customers across the United States.
