DVB marks the yearly milestone of MOBI's inception
In the vibrant city of Dresden, the MOBIworld bike-sharing service is set to mark its fifth anniversary with a family-friendly festival at Wasaplatz. The event, scheduled for Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, promises a day filled with excitement and activities.
MOBIworld, a subsidiary of Dresden's public transport company, has been a significant part of Dresden's urban landscape since 2018. Over the years, the service has grown exponentially, with 60 MOBI points now established throughout the city.
The expansion doesn't stop there. By the end of 2023, MOBIworld plans to add approximately 20 new MOBI points and around 200 additional rental bikes as part of its ongoing expansion efforts. This will more than quadruple the number of rental bikes available, currently over 1,550.
The festival offers a variety of activities designed to engage and entertain visitors. Participants can test their balancing skills in a bike balancing competition or showcase their packing prowess in a car rental packing challenge.
For those with a mechanical inclination, an on-site workshop for mobile bike repairs will be available. Cargo bikes, which were put into operation for rent as early as August, will also be a part of the festivities.
