Restored Carillon in Sögestraße Celebrates "Herdsman with Pigs" 50th Birthday

Bremen, Germany - A significant moment in the city's history took place on September 13th, 20XX, as the carillon in Sögestraße 70 was activated once again after a 30-year hiatus. This musical instrument, a testament to Bremen's rich tradition of public bell music, now joins the carillon in Böttcherstraße as a symbol of the city's cultural heritage.

The carillon in Sögestraße, installed in a tower or at a significant building near address 70, has been a part of the city's urban landscape for many years. Its bells, played via a mechanical or manual keyboard, contribute to the city's rich tradition of musical automata and public bell music, often playing at certain times of day to mark the hours or special events.

The restoration process, which took approximately one year and cost around 10,000 euros, was supported by various parties, including KSM Immobilien GmbH, the owner of Sögestraße 70, Mrs. Keunecke, Hoefert Elektro, the local office (Beirat Mitte), the trade supervision, the state office for monument protection, and the Senator for Building, Mobility and Urban Development.

The activation of the carillon was a celebratory event, marking the 50th birthday of the "Herdsman with Pigs" sculpture. Real estate entrepreneur Marco Bremermann spoke opening words about the historical significance of the occasion. Oliver Rau, director of marketing and tourism at WFB, highlighted the sculpture's importance as a tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world to Sögestraße.

The carillon in Sögestraße 70 will ring daily from 12:00 noon every half hour until 8:00 PM, adding a musical touch to the city's pedestrian area known for shopping, street life, and historical architecture.
