Unleash the Holiday Vibes at Harburg's Christmas Market!

Embark on a yuletide journey as Harburg town comes alive with the aroma of mulled wine, almonds, and lard pastries! On a chilly Thursday, the town's Christmas market made a grand entrance, Despite the city's drizzle, it was a hit right from the start.

From the town hall square, the sounds of music and singing echoed, courtesy of the Catholic School Harburg and the children's choir GBS Scheeßeler Kehre. The evening was expertly emceed by Stefan Wolter, joined by the jolly Snowman Olaf to create a magical atmosphere.

As the evening unfolded, Dierk Trispel, the deputy district administrator, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved, particularly Anne Rehberg and Antonia Marmon, for organizing a spectacular event. He invited everyone to savor a delightful Advent and Christmas season.

The crowd was a motley mix, including administrators, politicians, businesspeople, and society members. Among them were standouts like Antonia Marmon and Louisa Knipschild from Harburg Marketing, artists Petra Hagedorn and Ralf Schwinge, museum director Rainer-Maria Weiss with his wife Petra, Viktoria Ehlers from the Harburg Red Cross, and Uwe Schneider and Rainer Bliefernicht from the CDU. Also present were representatives from the Harburg Marine Kameradschaft and the Harburg Schützen Gilde.

However, the guild members had to depart early for an important discussion: whether Harburg would host a shooting contest next year. At 19:22, the bells of the St. Maria church tolled, signifying a decision: the guild has chosen to hold another Harburg shooting contest in 2023.

The Christmas market will wrap up on Saturday, December 28, with a dazzling fireworks display ignited from the Harburg Arcades' rooftop. The market will be open Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 9:30 pm, Sunday from 1 pm to 9:30 pm. On All Saints' Day, November 24, the market will open at 5 pm. The market will be closed on December 24, 25, and 26.

Harburg boasts the magnificent Harburg Castle, a must-visit attraction, and neighboring cities like Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbühl host famed Christmas markets, often featuring traditional German food, crafts, and entertainment.
