Magdeburg welcomes AOK Children's Theater production

Magdeburg played host to the AOK Children's Theater's national tour on May 26, 2025, as around 900 elementary school children watched the play "Henrietta's Journey into Space" at the Old Theater.

The play wrote a child-friendly script on the importance of rules, rituals, social communities, and tolerance for health. On her cosmic adventure, Henrietta learns about various planetary societies that establish harmonious living through their unique rules and traditions.

Empathy and immersive storytelling are at the heart of the production. Henry Saage, AOK Saxony-Anhalt's representative, explained, "Through Henrietta, we strive to fortify the physical and mental well-being of elementary school children. By making the topics relatable with captivating adventures, children can empathize, learn, and reflect."

"Henrietta's Journey into Space" is part of the prevention program "Henrietta & Co. - Learning health through play," which includes educational resources to aid comprehension in the classroom.

The AOK Children's Theater has long been a mainstay of AOK's health promotion initiatives. Schools receive complimentary admission, and additional resources are available for parents, such as free audio dramas on YouTube. Since its inception, Henrietta has reached over four million children across the country.

Following Magdeburg, the tour will visit Wittenberg on May 27 and Aschersleben on May 28. For further information on the children's theater or AOK Saxony-Anhalt's other children's projects, visit www.deine-gesundheitswelt.de/kindertheater and www.deine-gesundheitswelt.de/kinderprojekte, respectively.

AOK Saxony-Anhalt caters to approximately 850,000 insured individuals and 50,000 employers throughout the state, making it the largest regional health insurance company in Saxony-Anhalt with a market share of 41 percent.

Children who attended the AOK Children's Theater production in Magdeburg were introduced to a child-friendly script that integrated themes of lifestyle, home-and-garden, education-and-self-development, and learning in the play "Henrietta's Journey into Space". The tour's primary objective, as explained by Henry Saage of AOK Saxony-Anhalt, is to fortify the physical and mental well-being of elementary school children by making these topics relatable through captivating adventures and immersive storytelling, enabling them to empathize, learn, and reflect.
