Moers Festival and Gerken Partner with Klartext für Kinder

The 55th Moers Festival, known for its unique and perspective-changing artistic experiences, teamed up with local initiative Klartext für Kinder to make a significant contribution to the well-being of children in need. The artistic director of the Moers Festival, Tim Isfort, emphasized the festival's aim to offer a special experience and encourage perspective-changing.

The festival's partnership saw Gerken provide their truck work platform, offering festival-goers a unique view of the grounds, especially on a sunny Monday, despite interruptions due to Pfingst weather. The proceeds from the rides were donated to Klartext für Kinder, an association that combats the effects of child and youth poverty in Moers, Neukirchen-Vluyn, Kamp-Lintfort, and Rheinberg.

Klartext für Kinder is grateful for the support from the festival and Gerken. The association, which operates independently and flexibly, uses donations to provide concrete support for children in need, such as clothing, shoes, furniture, school bags, or leisure activities. With over 130 volunteers, the association is making a significant impact in the lives of the youngest members of society who often lack the basics.

Birgit Banze, a board member of Klartext für Kinder, expressed her gratitude towards the Moers Festival and Gerken for their initiative. Sebastian Wojcik, branch manager for Duisburg, Krefeld, and Wesel at Gerken, noted the interest in the action, especially when the weather was better. Safety was a priority during the event, as stated by Sebastian Wojcik.

The truck work platform, standing at a height of 60 meters, offered a panoramic view of the festival grounds and city of Moers for five euros per ride. Many brave moon travelers took advantage of the unique view and supported the Klartext für Kinder association.

Looking ahead, the Moers Festival is anticipated for next year, with plans for another special action. The festival organizers encourage those interested in supporting Klartext für Kinder to check their official websites or social media pages for event and fundraiser details. Local news sources in Moers around the time of the festival may also provide updates on any upcoming fundraising events.

Other festival initiatives could incorporate outdoor-living elements, such as home-and-garden workshops to educate children on sustainable practices and promote outdoor-living. The festival could also incorporate a lifestyle segment, featuring the stories and experiences of families who have embraced outdoor-living and home-and-garden sustainability, in order to inspire festival-goers and encourage long-term environmental stewardship.
