Frank Link, 58, and Sabine Link, 59, are the driving forces behind the inn's success. Frank takes care of the kitchen, preparing the delicious dishes that have kept guests coming back for more. Sabine manages the service at the inn, ensuring that every guest has a pleasant dining experience.
The couple plans to continue running the inn as long as they can, but have set a goal of not doing so beyond the age of 70. They are hopeful that one of their two adult sons, one in the marketing industry and the other working as a cook in Munich, may take over the business in the future.
The menu at "Bären" focuses on regional and Swabian cuisine, with most of the meat coming from Baden-Württemberg. One of the dishes still on the menu is Frank's mother's pickled tongue of beef, a testament to the inn's commitment to traditional cooking. Every four weeks, there are two new menus at the inn, keeping the offerings fresh and exciting. In November, the inn sources its geese from Lake Constance, another nod to regional sourcing. The vegetables are sourced from Reichenau, ensuring the freshest ingredients possible.
While many restaurants in the village have standard menus, "Bären" tries to offer something new and different. This approach has proven successful, as the inn is often fully booked, both at noon and in the evenings.
